Chromatic Typewriter
I love vintage typewriters. I do have one from the 1970s, in my mom's basement. I also lust over them in vintage stores, but do not have the room in my tiny living space. (But a girl can look can't she?) Check out this chromatic typewriter.

Tips for the Single Woman: 1938
Since it's date night, I'm sharing these Tips for the Single Woman from 1938 via the Retronaut.
I am crying with laughter while reading this. Most of these tips are still very relevant today. Here are a few samples:

Don't pick his ears.
Don't flirt with other men. (In fact, don't rub any man's head out of flirtation or otherwise.)
It goes without saying...

OMG Check out THIS Tannenbaum
A colleague of mine posted this on Facebook this morning. Just to get me excited. I had to share it with you. A Christmas tree made out of books!

Music and Lyrics
I found this on There's Hope For All of Us. It drew me in because I recently had this conversation with someone, about how I was a lyrics person and how they were a music person. A music person can just catch a good rhythm and away they go, lost in the moment. The lyrics people need more. They need to know the meaning.
Which one are you?

Bookends
To continue the discussion on bibliophilia and geekery, lets take a look at bookends. There are so many options that can be used to hold an upright row of books in place. There are the simple black metal bookends, usually seen on half-full library shelves. For those who want to add a bit more pizzazz many bookstores and gift shops have funky options that will nicely accent a bookshelf.
Or, for minimalists, there are many household items that could work. One suggestion is filling empty mason jars with rocks, sand, or coins would make cool bookends. When I was on a tour of the Tenement Museum, someone stated that they use antique stove top sad irons as books ends.
There are so many ways to add an extra touch of self expression to a row of books. (Check out the boot below.)

Ukelele Crazy
It seems as though many people are going ukelele crazy. They're not just for hula girls anymore. (Although there will always be a spot for hula girls in our hearts.)

Macbook
Last Sunday I brought home a new addition to my family. I purchased my first MacBook. Let the adventure begin.
While I have no intentions of decorating, these clever stickers from Etsy.com made me smile.
Of course, I didn't get to spend a lot of time with my new laptop after a certain someone saw it.
